Buhoma Community Rest Camp
This was established in 1993 as Buhoma Community Rest Camp (BCRC) and since then has been a community-based enterprise initiated and managed by members of communities surrounding Buhoma town council.
All revenue earned from visiting guests transfers to the BMCDA and is then dispersed to local community projects such as Buhoma community primary school, Buhoma Community High School, Buhoma Gravity Water Flow Scheme and the pineapple and vegetable growing project to mention but a few based on our mission.

Core objectives of BMCDA
- To create a sustainable resource base and initiate the development process in Buhoma.
- To promote activities that will empower women to be financially productive and independent.
- To promote quality health and education for the children in the community that will teach them to value the environment.
- To promote the conservation of natural resources through economic activities that are safe to the environment and in particular Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
